Winners of the 2018 Golden Kitty Awards are revealed

The 4th Annual Golden Kitty awards have been our biggest yet. From over 12,000 nominations we narrowed it down to 322 finalists across our 22 categories.

Golden kitties are a celebration of all the cool things that have launched throughout the year.

Our community continued casting votes right up to the deadline as products battled it out for a podium position as winner or runner up.

The cut-off was fast approaching and it looked like some categories would end up a draw, but in the end there has to be a winner. 🏆

Winners of the 2018 Golden Kitty Awards

Below are the Golden Kitty winners and runner-ups in each of the 22 product categories, and two data-driven (non-voting) awards for Community Member of the Year and Maker of the Year.

Voting started Thursday January 10th and ended Tuesday January 16th 6pm PST. We tallied the votes across each category and here are the winners*.

To pick our finalists for ‘Community Member of the Year’ and ‘Maker of the Year’ we pulled data from all of 2018 and created a model to compare individuals against a number of metrics including (but not limited to) their Maker goals, comments, upvotes and product launches.

💻 Maker of the Year 2018: Andrey Azimov

Andrey is an indie maker from Ukraine living in Bali. He quit his job in March 2018 to focus on making startups with a goal to make $1k MRR within a year. He’s had plenty of awesome Product Hunt launches including Sheet2Site, Progress Bar OSX and Make OSX Great Again.

🤗 Community Member of the Year 2018: Hiten Shah

Hiten has started three SaaS companies, runs an email newsletter called Product Habits and has launched an outstanding 84 products on Product Hunt over the years. Throughout 2018 he always makes time to engage with other makers in the community, chiming into launches and goals.
